The Rescue Act

Scene : Me, loomie(AP) and roomie (Man-of-Steel) caught in the old lift.

What was wrong with it ? For 10 minutes, it did not stop at any floor. Kept on oscillating from one to another. Finally stopped at the ground floor, but the door didn't open.

Thoughts going in our mind ....

Roomie : He was on another call from a credit card company regarding a huge outstanding amount. Later did he realize that we were stuck, and finally called Satya for help. Btw, even the called turned out to be a fake one.

Loomie : Was more worried about the Eco exam. In case the doors didn't open till hours, he hoped that somebody would sneak in a Eco book. After the rescue, he wanted to know how many girls were concerned about him.

Me : It was already quarter past two. I wanted some food badly. Was hoping that the food doesn't get over.

Satya to the rescue

He informed the people on the ground floor and went looking for the security guard. Meanwhile, a mini crowd had gathered. We could make it out from the noise level, but only Shivam's voice reached inside the lift. (My other loomie (AKT) happened to be outside, but he was more into his biscuit packet). Finally, the guard arrived and opened the doors. "This happens a lot", the guard said.

Lessons learnt
  • Never call Ramki in case of an emergency.
  • The Eco paper would not have been postponed had we remained in the lift for one more day.
  • All the emergency buttons (with fancy red light) do not work.
  • The food, as usual, wasn't worth the trouble.
  • (Loomie) More girls were concerned about Man-of-Steel than him.

Tip tip barsa paani

It's raining here. South Delhi weather is extremely pleasant. One of the followers of this blog calls it the "Heavenly Mumbai" weather. I call it the "Feel Lonely" weather. Somehow, rain makes you nostalgic. Don't know if it's the same with everybody, but here's my rainy day account.

  • Mysore - I miss that place. Here in Delhi, pleasant weather is a rarity. In Mysore, its rare to have unpleasant weather. A lovely city without the choking traffic, full of courteous people, yummy food and lots of places to hang out with friends. Can't forget the trips to KRS backwaters and Wayanad(Kerala).

  • To drive your car. As i already had a two wheeler, it was hard to justify the need to take out the family car otherwise. Rain provided a valid excuse and an opportunity to race on the empty Ludhiana streets.

  • School days. 'chap chap' with my black school shoes in rain water. Designing paper boats to float in instant rivulets of water. Hot 'pakodas' with tea.

  • My parents had to drop me to school in our old Fiat car. A heavy shower ensured that our car stopped midway. I was the only person smiling (Car repairs - some MG notes, school holiday - priceless)

  • Dancing in the first shower of the season (inside/outside home). Who cares?
